According to the latest statistics, China¨s crude steel
production of September 2005 continued upward trend set in the past month,
with total production of 31,672,900 tons, up 18.9% from the same period of
last year. The year to date (YDT) figure was set at 286,792,800 tons, up
26.5%.
Of the total production, finished steel products accounted for 33,104,500
tons, up 23.6%; YTD figures at 301,916,900 tons, up 25.7%. In the breakdown
by items, rail products 262,600 tons, up 18% and YTD figures (2,633,900
tons) up 16%; wire rod totaled 5,410,000 tons, up 17.4% and YTD figures
(49,313,600 tons) up 20.5%; heavy plate totaled 963,900tons, up 39.6% and
YTD figures (8,861,000 tons) up 29.5%; hot rolled sheet totaled 269,800
tons, down 15.1% and YTD figures (2,736,600 tons) up 27.6%; cold rolled
sheet totaled 767,200 tons, up 23.8% and YTD figures (6,762,800 tons) up
23.4%; galvanized sheet (strip) totaled 725,700 tons, up 34.4% and YTD
figures (6,425,800 tons) up 38.5%; seamless pipes totaled 912,900 tons, up
26% and YTD figures (8,454,000 tons) up 23.3%; welded pipes totaled
1,408,600 tons, up 40.5% and YTD figures (12,605,000 tons) up 30.1%.
