China's Crude Steel Production in July 2003: 18,365,100 tons

 

 
    
According to the latest statistics, China's crude steel production of July 2003 continued the upward trend set in the past months, with a total production of 18,365,100 tons, representing a 20.28% increase from the same period of last year. The Year-to-date (YTD) figure was set at 121,552,300 tons, up 20.93% from the same period of last year.
Of the total production, finished steel products accounted for 19,802,400 tons, up 25.05% from same period last year. YTD figures at 128,757,500 tons show a 18.43% increase over the same period last year. In the breakdown by items, rail products 185,600 tons, up 5.04% and YTD figures (1,096,200 tons) down 3.29%; wire rods totaled 3,463,500 tons, up 17.48% and YTD figures (22,320,700 tons) up 11.19%; medium & heavy plates totaled 2,974,200 tons, up 49.16% and YTD figures (18,034,600 tons) up 28.06%; sheet products totaled 1,945,100 tons, up 3.14% and YTD figures (13,589,900 tons) up 6.1%; seamless pipes totaled 604,600 tons, up 21.9% and YTD figures (3,908,800 tons) up 8.44%; welded pipes totaled 902,100 tons, up 36.06% and YTD figures (5,501,800 tons) up 23.11%.
