China's Crude Steel Production in January 2003: 15,622,500 tons

 

 
    
According to the latest statistics, China's crude steel production of January 2003 was 15,622,500 tons, representing a 14.82% increase from the same period of last year. 
Of the total production, finished steel products accounted for 16,461,900 tons, up 15.92% from same period last year. In the breakdown by items, rail products 124,000 tons, down 21.57%; wire rods totaled 3,018,100 tons, up 7.77%; medium & heavy plates totaled 2,300,200 tons, up 17.5%; sheet products totaled 2,096,300 tons, up 16.87%; strip products totaled 1,290,800 tons, up 37.86%; seamless pipes totaled 502,000 tons, up 10.06%; welded pipes totaled 567,200 tons, up 18.07%.
