According to customs, China exported 5.22 million tons of steel products in June, down 340,000 tons or 6.1% from May and 1.14 million tons or 17.9% year-on-year, exported 20,000 tons of billet and 1.5 million tons of coke.
The country exported 26.94 million tons of steel products during the first half, down 20.2% year-on-year, 130,000 tons of billet, down 97% and 7.44 million tons of coke, down 7.5% with an export value of $3.15 billion, up 134.2% year-on-year.
It imported 1.26 million tons of steel products in June, down 5.97% from May and 150,000 tons or 10.6% year-on-year, with net steel products exports of 3.96 million tons, down 6.16% from May and 990,000 tons or 20% year-on-year, imported 20,000 tons of billet and 37.79 million tons of iron ore, down 1.12 million tons from May and up 40.5% year-on-year.
It imported 8.28 million tons of steel products during the first half, down 4.1%, with net steel products exports of 18.66 million tons, imported 100,000 tons of billet, down 28.5% with net billet exports of 30,000 tons and imported 230.04 million tons of iron ore, up 22.5% with an import value of $30.5 billion, up 117.3%.
