China¨s Steel Production in April 2008: 44,675,600 tons

 

 

According to the latest statistics, China¨s crude steel production of April 2008 stood at 44,675,600 tons, up 10.2% from the same period of last year. The year to date (YDT) figure was set at 169,777,800 tons, up 9.1%; that of finished steel totaled 51,613,000 tons, up 11.7% and YTD figures totaled 192,348,900 tons, up 12%.
In the breakdown by items, rail products 321,800 tons, up 36.1% and YTD figures (1,282,200 tons) up 1.5%; rod totaled 4,577,600 tons, up 25.3% and YTD figures (16,955,800 tons) up 22%; rebar totaled 8,161,700 tons, down 7.8% and YTD figures (30,705,800 tons) down 2.3%; wire rod totaled 6,753,700 tons, up 6.3% and YTD figures (25,725,000 tons) up 4.5%; heavy plate totaled 1,776,300tons, up 21.3% and YTD figures (6,694,200 tons) up 24.3%; hot rolled sheet totaled 827,400 tons, down 4.6% and YTD figures (3,007,000 tons) up 6.9%; cold rolled sheet totaled 1,391,400 tons, up 21.5% and YTD figures (5,231,900 tons) up 12.6%; galvanized sheet (strip) totaled 1,546,900 tons, up 8.7% and YTD figures (5,725,800 tons) up 6.8%; coating sheet (strip) totaled 282,600 tons, up 14.5% and YTD figures (1,032,300 tons) up 14.4%; electric steel (strip) totaled 379,600 tons, up 11.8% and YTD figures (1,485,600 tons) up 14.5%; seamless pipes totaled 1,637,900tons, up 5.5% and YTD figures (5,850,900 tons) up 10.3%; welded pipes totaled 2,142,200 tons, up 8.4% and YTD figures (7,093,600 tons) up 9.5%.
