According to the latest statistics, China¨s crude
steel production of June 2007 stood at 42,120,500 tons, up 14.64% from the
same period of last year. The year to date (YDT) figure was set at
237,580,600 tons, up 18.92%; that of finished steel totaled 49,190,400 tons,
up 21.8% and YTD figures totaled 270,246,700 tons, up 23.9%.
In the breakdown by items, rail products 280,800 tons, up 15.9% and YTD
figures (1,468,100 tons) down 2.2%; rod totaled 3,805,300 tons, up 16.8% and
YTD figures (20,421,900 tons) up 11.5%; rebar totaled 8,220,800 tons, up
9.1% and YTD figures (48,484,000 tons) up 15.5%; wire rod totaled 7,227,500
tons, up 16.5% and YTD figures (38,982,700 tons) up 17%; heavy plate totaled
1,468,700tons, up 29.1% and YTD figures (8,334,900 tons) up 42.4%; hot
rolled sheet totaled 849,200 tons, up 40.4% and YTD figures (4,620,900 tons)
up 85.7%; cold rolled sheet totaled 1,512,500 tons, up 31% and YTD figures
(7,572,900 tons) up 31.8%; galvanized sheet (strip) totaled 1,664,000 tons,
up 43.8% and YTD figures (10,092,000 tons) up 66.9%; coating sheet (strip)
totaled 279,100 tons, up 51.3% and YTD figures (1,399,100 tons) up 29.7%;
electric steel (strip) totaled 342,900 tons, up 30.1% and YTD figures
(1,984,200 tons) up 19.6%; seamless pipes totaled 1,709,900tons, up 28.5%
and YTD figures (8,905,200 tons) up 23.1%; welded pipes totaled 2,116,800
tons, down 5.8% and YTD figures (10,742,800 tons) up 10.2%.
