China¨s Steel Production in March 2007: 40,157,000 tons

 

 
According to the latest statistics, China¨s crude steel production of March 2007 stood at 40,157,000 tons, up 20.4% from the same period of last year. The year to date (YDT) figure was set at 114,704,100 tons, up 22.3%; that of finished steel totaled 46,954,700 tons, up 25.7% and YTD figures totaled 126,344,200 tons, up 26.2%.
In the breakdown by items, rail products 371,500 tons, up 14.2% and YTD figures (1,030,700 tons) up 9.7%; rod totaled 3,659,000 tons, up 6.5% and YTD figures (9,868,500 tons) up 11.7%; rebar totaled 8,414,500 tons, up 20.4% and YTD figures (22,208,200 tons) up 11.9%; wire rod totaled 6,919,900 tons, up 23.3% and YTD figures (18,852,600 tons) up 20.4%; heavy plate totaled 1,528,200tons, up 60.1% and YTD figures (3,920,300 tons) up 46.1%; hot rolled sheet totaled 754,200 tons, up 118.7% and YTD figures (2,190,600 tons) up 173.5%; cold rolled sheet totaled 1,216,900 tons, up 36.6% and YTD figures (3,356,000 tons) up 47.3%; galvanized sheet (strip) totaled 1,466,300 tons, up 20.3% and YTD figures (4,183,500 tons) up 57%; coating sheet (strip) totaled 224,800 tons, up 15.5% and YTD figures (610,600 tons) up 25.3%; electric steel (strip) totaled 342,900 tons, up 16.7% and YTD figures (955,900 tons) up 17.9%; seamless pipes totaled 1,435,200tons, up 19.7% and YTD figures (3,722,800 tons) up 17.8%; welded pipes totaled 1,747,300 tons, down 2.2% and YTD figures (4,477,700 tons) up 6.4%.
