China¨s Steel Production in April 2006: 33,711,100 tons

 

 
  According to the latest statistics, China¨s steel production of April 2006 stood at 33,711,100 tons, up 19% from the same period of last year. The year to date (YDT) figure was set at 126,240,600 tons, up 18%.
  In the breakdown by items, rail products 274,700 tons, up 22.3% and YTD figures (1,028,700 tons) up 11.5%; wire rod totaled 5,708,500 tons, up 15.6% and YTD figures (21,565,200 tons) up 16.8%; heavy plate totaled 936,700tons, up 14.8% and YTD figures (3,780,400 tons) up 22.1%; hot rolled sheet totaled 331,000 tons, up 11.9% and YTD figures (1,071,600 tons) down 0.2%; cold rolled sheet totaled 1,017,000 tons, up 73.5% and YTD figures (3,450,200 tons) up 49.9%; galvanized sheet (strip) totaled 1,023,400 tons, up 40.1% and YTD figures (3,659,700 tons) up 40%; seamless pipes totaled 1,283,400tons, up 40.3% and YTD figures (4,584,700 tons) up 37%; welded pipes totaled 1,814,800 tons, up 40.2% and YTD figures (6,004,000 tons) up 30.9%.
