According to the latest statistics, China¨s
crude steel production of November 2005 continued upward trend set in the
past month, with total production of 30,477,600 tons, up 17.4% from the same
period of last year. The year to date (YDT) figure was set at 317,652,800
tons, up 25.5%.
Of the total production, finished steel products accounted for 33,057,700
tons, up 19.6%; YTD figures at 335,247,200 tons, up 24.6%. In the breakdown
by items, rail products 246,500 tons, up 1.5% and YTD figures (2,880,400
tons) up 14.6%; wire rod totaled 5,389,600 tons, up 16.7% and YTD figures
(54,723,200 tons) up 20.1%; heavy plate totaled 943,700tons, up 45.4% and
YTD figures (9,804,700 tons) up 30.9%; hot rolled sheet totaled 216,800
tons, down 23.6% and YTD figures (2,954,400 tons) up 14.7%; cold rolled
sheet totaled 727,900 tons, up 18% and YTD figures (7,490,400 tons) up
22.8%; galvanized sheet (strip) totaled 1,095,300 tons, up 97.8% and YTD
figures (7,520,700 tons) up 44.8%; seamless pipes totaled 976,600 tons, up
30.4% and YTD figures (9,506,400 tons) up 25.1%; welded pipes totaled
1,447,300 tons, up 6.8% and YTD figures (14,202,200 tons) up 23.5%.
