According to the latest statistics, China¨s
crude steel production of June 2005 continued upward trend set in the past
month, with total production of 28,547,400 tons, up 33% from the same period
of last year. The year to date (YDT) figure was set at 164,863,700 tons, up
28.3%.
Of the total production, finished steel products accounted for 30,365,900
tons, up 29.5%; YTD figures at 173,118,900 tons, up 25.9%. In the breakdown
by items, rail products 286,300 tons, up 31.9% and YTD figures (1,519,800
tons) up 27.1%; wire rod totaled 5,014,300 tons, up 24.5% and YTD figures
(28,424,100 tons) up 22.5%; heavy plate totaled 897,000 tons, up 20.6% and
YTD figures (4,891,100 tons) up 22.2%; hot rolled sheet totaled 259,000
tons, up 28.7% and YTD figures (1,660,300 tons) up 34.7%; cold rolled sheet
totaled 612,100 tons, up 11.4% and YTD figures (3,780,300 tons) up 20.3%;
galvanized sheet (strip) totaled 627,500 tons, up 47.9% and YTD figures
(3,482,100 tons) up 40.8%; seamless pipes totaled 910,800 tons, up 23.9% and
YTD figures (4,849,900 tons) up 21.1%; welded pipes totaled 1,434,500 tons,
up 31.6% and YTD figures (6,720,400 tons) up 23.7%.
