According to the latest statistics, China's crude steel production of February 2004 continued upward trend set in the past month, with total production of 19,724,300 tons, up 31.5% from the same period of last year. The year to date (YDT) figure was set at 39,052,900 tons, up 27.9%.
Of the total production, finished steel products accounted for 22,625,500 tons, up 37.7%; YTD figures at 43,435,000 tons, up 31.7%. In the breakdown by items, rail products 212,700 tons, up 39.7% and YTD figures (377,300 tons) up 29.9%; wire rod totaled 3,713,600 tons, up 31.7% and YTD figures (7,247,200 tons) up 26%; medium plate totaled 1,486,600 tons, up 24.4% and YTD figures (2,521,300 tons) up 23.1%; cold rolled sheet products totaled 421,400 tons, up 10.7% and YTD figures (817,500 tons) up 5.6%; seamless pipes totaled 598,900 tons, up 35.6% and YTD figures (1,090,600 tons) up 29.7%; welded pipes totaled 1,124,800 tons, up 97% and YTD figures (1,707,300 tons) up 58.9%. |
