China's Crude Steel Production in December 2002: 16,625,500 tons

 

 
According to the latest statistics, China's crude steel production of November 2002 continued the upward trend set in the past months, with a total production of 16,625,500 tons, representing a 11.25% increase from the same period of last year. The Year-to-date (YTD) figure was set at 181,551,600 tons, up 20.34% from the same period of last year. 

Of the total production, finished steel products accounted for 17,631,600 tons, up 21.64% from same period last year. YTD figures at 192,183,400 tons also show a 18.85% increase over the same period last year. In the breakdown by items, rail products 139,800 tons, down 9.13% and YTD figures (1,852,200 tons) up 8.74%; wire rods totaled 3,072,800 tons, up 6.13% and YTD figures (35,623,500 tons) up 18.07%; medium & heavy plates totaled 2,151,700 tons, up 32.94% and YTD figures (24,603,100 tons) up 22.41%; sheet products totaled 1,891,100 tons, up 12.50% and YTD figures (22,445,000 tons) up 11.8%; strip products totaled 1,433,500 tons, up 41.78% and YTD figures (15,051,000 tons) up 27.56%; seamless pipes totaled 549,400 tons, up 13.07% and YTD figures (6,083,000 tons) up 18.63%; welded pipes totaled 663,000 tons, up 18.22% and YTD figures (7,011,800 tons) up 9.50%.
