China's Crude Steel Production in September 2002: 15,221,400 tons

 

 
    
   
According to the latest statistics, China's crude steel production of September 2002 continued the upward trend set in the past months, with a total production of 15,221,400 tons, representing a 24.64% increase from the same period of last year. The Year-to-date (YTD) figure was set at 130,842,800 tons, up 22.63% from the same period of last year.

    Of the total production, finished steel products accounted for 16,373,700 tons, up 21.50% from same period last year. YTD figures at 140,719,700 tons also show a 20.03% increase over the same period last year. In the breakdown by items, rail products 155,000 tons, up 2.51% and YTD figures (1,439,600 tons) up 17.03%; wire rods totaled 2,934,000 tons, up 15.68% and YTD figures (26,083,500 tons) up 19.53%; medium & heavy plates totaled 2,106,100 tons, up 27.86% and YTD figures (18,319,700 tons) up 20.78%; sheet products totaled 2,008,300 tons, up 38.32% and YTD figures (16,741,600 tons) up 14.66%; strip products totaled 1,346,600 tons, up 28.25% and YTD figures (10,083,800 tons) up 26.94%; seamless pipes totaled 480,700 tons, up 7.85% and YTD figures (4,527,200 tons) up 19.15%; welded pipes totaled 617,000 tons, up 31.87% and YTD figures (4,737,500 tons) up 12.20%.
