China¨s Steel Production in February 2007: 36,135,100 tons

 

 
  According to the latest statistics, China¨s crude steel production of February 2007 stood at 36,135,100 tons, up 20.1% from the same period of last year. The year to date (YDT) figure was set at 74,254,200 tons, up 23.1%; that of pig iron totaled 34,034,700 tons, up 18.6% and YTD figures totaled 70,065,500 tons, up 21%; that of finished steel totaled 38,568,300 tons, up 22.3% and YTD figures totaled 79,008,100 tons, up 25.4%; that of coking coal totaled 22,889,200 tons, up 21.5%, YTD figures totaled 46,927,200 tons, up 23.3%; that of ferrous alloy totaled 1,155,200 tons, up 37% and YTD figures totaled 22,279,000 tons, up 40.2%.
    In the breakdown by items, rail products 170,100 tons, down 16.3% and YTD figures (3,585,000 tons) down 15%; rod totaled 3,095,300 tons, up 20.6% and YTD figures (6,301,300 tons) up 20.9%; rebar totaled 6,533,000 tons, up 1.9% and YTD figures (13,670,600 tons) up 5.4%; wire rod totaled 5,764,900 tons, up 19.1% and YTD figures (11,970,400 tons) up 19.8%; heavy plate totaled 1,205,700tons, up 45.9% and YTD figures (2,392,100 tons) up 38.3%; hot rolled sheet totaled 75,800 tons, up 194.8% and YTD figures (1,414,600 tons) up 231.5%; cold rolled sheet totaled 1,189,500 tons, up 64.3% and YTD figures (2,281,500 tons) up 66.5%; galvanized sheet (strip) totaled 1,414,300 tons, up 83.1% and YTD figures (2,610,900 tons) up 73.9%; coating sheet (strip) totaled 170,800 tons, up 21.5% and YTD figures (377,400 tons) up 34.7%; electric steel (strip) totaled 294,800 tons, up 17.5% and YTD figures (615,800 tons) up 18.5%; seamless pipes totaled 1,048,800tons, up 1% and YTD figures (2,286,000 tons) up 9.6%; welded pipes totaled 1,132,300 tons, down 5% and YTD figures (2,659,600 tons) up 10.8%.
