China¨s Steel Production in March 2006: 38,003,700 tons

 

 

    
 

According to the latest statistics, China¨s steel production of March 2006 stood at 38,003,700 tons, up 21.8% from the same period of last year. The year to date (YDT) figure was set at 102,023,900 tons, up 21.7%.
In the breakdown by items, rail products 277,800 tons, up 9.9% and YTD figures (754,200 tons) up 8.1%; wire rod totaled 5,777,000 tons, up 14% and YTD figures (15,886,300 tons) up 17.5%; heavy plate totaled 989,300tons, up 19% and YTD figures (2,843,900 tons) up 24.8%; hot rolled sheet totaled 288,200 tons, up 12.1% and YTD figures (706,100 tons) down 9.2%; cold rolled sheet totaled 965,600 tons, up 43.7% and YTD figures (2,365,200 tons) up 36.3%; galvanized sheet (strip) totaled 1,213,700 tons, up 75.1% and YTD figures (2,719,200 tons) up 43.9%; seamless pipes totaled 1,263,100tons, up 43.1% and YTD figures (3,235,900 tons) up 33%; welded pipes totaled 2,009,900 tons, up 65.8% and YTD figures (4,623,400 tons) up 34.3%.
